Artist Spotlight: Cheat Codes Celebrate a Decade with Bold New Album Future Renaissance

Few acts in dance-pop have defined the last decade as clearly as Cheat Codes. The LA-based trio—Trevor Dahl, Kevi Ford, and Matt Russell—have been responsible for some of the most recognizable crossover hits in recent memory, racking up 8+ billion streams and collaborating with everyone from Demi Lovato and Dolly Parton to Travis Barker and Icona Pop. Now, in 2025, they’re commemorating 10 years of global dominance with their most ambitious project yet: Future Renaissance (out July 25th).

A Decade of Global Dance-Pop Evolution

Since forming in 2015, Cheat Codes has continually blurred the lines between pop, EDM, house, and mainstream radio, crafting chart-topping singles that feel equally at home on festival stages as they do on Top 40 playlists. Over the years, their adaptability has become a calling card—working with artists across virtually every genre while maintaining a signature blend of uplifting hooks, polished production, and dancefloor energy.

Yet despite their widespread success and genre-hopping collaborations, Cheat Codes is now turning inward with Future Renaissance. As the trio puts it, the album represents a “rebirth”—a reimagining of the sound and spirit that first propelled them to international fame.

Future Renaissance — A Genre-Defying Statement

Out July 25, 2025, Future Renaissance is a 14-track journey that threads together Cheat Codes’ roots in dance-pop with bold, forward-thinking collaborations. Far from relying on their past formulas, the trio brings in a stunning range of artists—Kenny G, Train, CeeLo Green, LP, Izzy Bizu, Öwnboss, Jasmine Thompson, Linney, Julia Church, and more—to craft a record that bridges genres, generations, and global influences.

Notable Tracks:

  • “Go To Hell” feat. CeeLo Green opens with attitude and unapologetic swagger.
  • “More Than Anybody” feat. Kenny G & Izzy Bizu brings a sultry, sax-laced groove to the mix.
  • “Bloom” with Train delivers sun-soaked, euphoric pop energy destined for festival singalongs.
  • “Carnival” with Öwnboss shifts gears toward club-ready tech-house with a nod to Brazilian dance culture.
  • “Human” with LP stands out as an emotional, pride-fueled anthem with powerful resonance.

The album also reimagines classics, as heard on “Stand By Me,” giving the timeless song a fresh dance-pop sheen, while tracks like “Rich Kids” and “Lonely Again” balance upbeat anthems with vulnerable songwriting.

A Cinematic Arc of Sound

What makes Future Renaissance feel so cohesive is its cinematic flow. From pop-radio polish to underground dancefloor energy, the project feels like a carefully curated journey—tying together Cheat Codes’ history with where dance-pop is headed. The album art and visuals lean into a blend of medieval aesthetics and futuristic optimism, matching the music’s sense of timeless reinvention.

“Renaissance means ‘rebirth,’ and I feel like that’s exactly what this album was for us,” says Trevor Dahl.

“10 years deep and we’re still pushing boundaries,” adds Kevi Ford.

“This is about evolution—mixing nostalgia with innovation.”
